iPhone 3G is Durable, Really Durable
I’ve read on many Forums about people’s queries on the iPhone’s durability. The iPhone 2G seemed to prove you wrong all the time considering the fact that that it passed tests denying Scratches, falls and what not 
The 3G is also packed with similar build quality but you got to see the video to believe yourself!

I can honestly testify that the new iPhone 3G is about as durable as a piece of fine crystal. I’ve had my phone 1 day and I dropped it 2 feet 7 inches and it will not work anymore. The screen is white and the touchscreen does not work at all. I’ve reset it to factory defaults and reinstalled the software and firmware, but it still does not work.
This is not a durable phone.
